Mamoru Hosoda's BELLE Gets a Full International Trailer
We’ve been following the progress of BELLE, the 9th feature from ace anime director Mamoru Hosoda (Summer Wars, Mirai) for a while now, and finally our patience has been rewarded. A full length English subtitled trailer has now been made available. What’s more, we now have a release date for BELLE: July 16 in Japan (hopefully internationally soon thereafter).
With word that musician Kaho Nakamura is joining the cast in the lead role, BELLE is shaping up to be one of the major anime movie-going events of the year.
Here's a synopsis for BELLE along with the first poster and the cover of the movie novelization by Mamoru Hosoda himself!
Mixing reality and fantasy, “Belle” follows Suzu, a 17-year-old high school student living in a rural village with her father. For years she has only been a shadow of herself. One day, she enters “U,” a virtual world of 5 billion members on the Internet. There, she is not Suzu anymore but Belle, a world-famous singer. She soon meets with a mysterious creature. Together, they embark on a journey of adventures, challenges and love, in their quest of becoming who they truly are.
