Rei Ayanami From Evangelion Stars in New Anime Commercial for Lip Gloss
Although the release of the new Evangelion movie keeps getting delayed and delayed due to Covid-19 concerns, merchandise for Evangelion: 3.0+1.0 Thrice Upon a Time continues to hit store shelves in Japan.
Last week marked the debut of Red Nude Rouge EV lip rouge from Kate, a sub-brand of the Japanese make-up powerhouse known as Kanebo.
Rei Ayanami, the pilot of EVA-00 in Evangelion is the anime spokesperson for Red Nude Rouge EV and, as part of her participation, Kate has rolled out a series of new commercials hawking the new lip rouge that is available for around $19.00 from online retailers.
Voice actress Megumi Hayashibara performs Rei’s trademark voice and illustrator Mai Yoneyama provides the visuals. Will it make you want to buy some lip rouge? Perhaps, perhaps not, but it will definitely make you hanker even more for the inevitable release of the new Evangelion movie whenever it finally does actually come out!
