See How the Knights of Sidonia Anime Film Opens!
Knights of Sidonia: A Star That Weaves Love is on the way to theaters in Japan to continue the story of Tsutomu Nihei's sci-fi series on May 14. It'll probably be a while before we see this one on our own screens, but in the meantime the KING AMUSEMENT CREATIVE YouTube channel recently shared the film's opening sequence.
Check out the five-minute video below to see how it all kicks off ahead of the premiere.
Thanks to the efforts of Garde pilot Nagate Tanikaze, humanity has known peace for about ten years when we first dip into Knights of Sidonia: A Star That Weaves Love. The Gauna continue to be a lingering threat, however, so Nagate and Tsumugi must prepare for the final battle to protect humankind once and for all.
Hiroyuki Seshita and Tadahiro "Tady" Yoshihara are at the helm for this one, which is a brand new story set after the events of Nihei's manga but has the author overseeing it all. Polygon Pictures is once again in charge of animation production, and the premiere is just a couple weeks away, unless the recent State of Emergency ends up leading to a delay.
