My Next Life as a Villainess Anime Hypes Up Season 2!

The second season of the My Next Life as a Villainess: All Routes Lead to Doom! anime is right around the corner, and the latest preview is here to confirm a July 2 premiere date. In addition to locking that in, the new trailer samples the second season's opening theme by angela, "Andante ni Koi wo Koishite!" ("Falling in Love with Andante!"), and introduces a new cast member.

Check out the preview below.

The new cast member is Kosuke Toriumi (Cecil Aijima in Uta no Prince-sama), who voices Serena Berg's personal servant Rufus Broad.

Here's what he had to say about the anime:

"I thought it was a very interesting worldview. There are a lot of characters in the story, but I feel that each of them is very attractive, and after all, the protagonist is very good."

And his character:

"I think he is a character with two sides, like his impression changes drastically between his first appearance and afterwards. I'd like to enjoy the role, including the scenes with otome game-like elements."

The My Next Life as a Villainess anime streamed its first season on Crunchyroll, and J-Novel Club publishes the light novel series by Satoru Yamaguchi and Nami Hidaka digitally. Here's how the former sums it up:

Wealthy heiress Catarina Claes is hit in the head with a rock and recovers the memories of her past life. It turns out the world she lives in is the world of the game Fortune Lover, an otome game she was obsessed with in her past life... but she's been cast as the villain character who tries to foil the protagonist's romances! The best ending the game has for Catarina is exile, and the worst, death! She'll have to find a way to avoid triggering the flags of doom, and make her own happy future! The misunderstanding-based screwball love comedy now begins!
