JUJUTSU KAISEN Manga Celebrates an Amazing 50 Million Volumes in Circulation
Gege Akutami's JUJUTSU KAISEN manga continues to grow as one of the most popular Weekly Shonen Jump series, and it's really blown up since the debut of the anime adaptation. Now, the official Twitter account has announced the amazing milestone of 50 million copies of the manga's volumes in circulation, including those physically printed and digitally sold.
This milestone will be made official upon the release of volume 16, which hits shelves in Japan on June 4. The latest volume has also broken a series record with a first-run printing of two million copies.
To show just how rapidly Akutami's series is growing, JUJUTSU KAISEN celebrated 45 million copies printed and sold on April 21, so in just a little over a month it's managed to move another five million copies out into the wild. For comparison, the manga is now on the level of the worldwide sales of My Hero Academia, the lifetime sales of Haikyu!!, and the updated numbers for the late Kentaro Miura's Berserk, all of which boast more volumes than JUJUTSU KAISEN has so far.
Next up for the series is the JUJUTSU KAISEN 0 anime film this winter.
