The first live-action Ruruoni Kenshi movie, directed by Keishi Ohtomo, was released in 2014 with a cast including Takeru Satoh as Himura Kenshin and Emi Takei as Kamiya Kaoru. Since then, the big-budget Kenshin movies have helped to keep the tradition of high-quality samurai movies alive in Japan.
Now this on-going live-action movie adaptation of the classic anime and manga series Ruruoni Kenshi (created by Nobuhiro Watsuki) is quickly drawing to a close.
In a few days, Rurouni Kenshin: The Final will open in theaters across Japan, while the second part of this 2-part finale, Rurouni Kenshin: The Beginning is set for this June.
