Scarlet Nexus Anime Premiere Set for July 1

Back in March we posted about the Scarlet Nexus anime, which is based on the upcoming action-RPG from Bandai Namco Entertainment. The Sunrise-produced TV series was previously announced for a summer debut, and now that window has been narrowed down to July 1.

The latest announcement comes from a new promo, which Funimation shared with English subtitles on YouTube.

Hiroyuki Nishimura (character designer on Gundam The Origin) is on board as director, with Yoichi Kato and Toshizo Nemoto as series composition writers and Akiko Inoue on the screenplay at Sunrise. Junya Enoki is in the lead as Suito Sumeragi alongside Asami Seto as Kasane Randall.

Funimation describes the series:

Solar calendar year 2020: grotesque organisms called Others have begun eating people. To take down this new enemy, the Other Suppression Force is formed. Saved by this elite team as a child, psychokinetic Yuito withstands the training to enlist. On the other hand, prodigy Kasane was scouted for her abilities. But Kasane’s dreams tell her strange things, dragging the two into an unavoidable fate.
