Uncle From Another World Isekai Comedy Anime Adaptation Revealed
At this point there's more than enough isekai material out there worth spoofing, and Hotondoshindeiru's Uncle From Another World, AKA Isekai Ojisan, does a good job of it. Now the isekai comedy series is getting an anime adaptation, complete with an announcement that has a man on the street claiming "fake news" once he hears about the project.
Hotondoshindeiru's Uncle From Another World manga kicked off on Kadokawa's ComicWalker website back in June 2018, and the sixth collected volume is due out in Japan on June 23. Check out the mockumentary-style announcement video below.
Yen Press licensed the manga in North America and describes it:
Seventeen years ago, Takafumi's uncle fell into a coma, but now he's back like a man risen from his grave. Soon, Takafumi discovers two bizarre things: His uncle treasures video games above all else, and, while comatose, he was actually transported to another world as some heroic guardian! Now, not only does Takafumi have to room with an uncle who is literally magical, he also has to catch the guy up on two decades of history—smartphones, high-speed internet, modern anime tropes…and the traumatic outcome of the '90s console war!
