Anime fans were sent reeling when a second season was announced for The Devil is a Part-Timer, but that wasn't the only high-profile return from a big weekend of reveals. Also on the way is season two of The Misfit of Demon King Academy, which has the main staff and cast from the first season returning for more fun.
Based on the fantasy light novels written by Shu and illustrated by Yoshinori Shizuma, The Misfit of Demon King Academy season two has Shin Oonuma (Fate/kaleid liner Prisma Illya) back on board as chief director alongside Masafumi Tamura (Wise Man's Grandchild) as director, Jin Tanaka (Laid-Back Camp, series composition assistant on Tokyo Ghoul) as series composition writer, and Kazuyuki Yamayoshi (Chaos;Child) as character designer at anime production house Silver Link.
Crunchyroll streamed the first season of The Misfit of Demon King Academy as it aired in Japan and describes it:
Anos Voldigord was a tyrannical Demon King that eradicated humans, spirits, and even the gods, but became bored of eternal warfare and reincarnated with dreams of a peaceful world. However, what awaited him in reincarnation after 2000 years were descendants who became too weak after being accustomed to peace, and all sorts of magic that deteriorated to the extreme. Anos enters Demon King Academy that gathers and educates those who are viewed as the reincarnation of the Demon King, but the academy could not see through his true powers and ends up branding him as a misfit.
The second season will be broadcast as a pair of split cours. Stay tuned for more details like the exact air time they're announced.
